THE VILLA

A stylish off-the-grid villa is set within the beautiful Cradle of Humankind, +/- 60 minutes drive from Johannesburg.The space embodies simple luxury and raw minimalism, featuring 4 thoughtfully designed bedrooms and 2.5 modern bathrooms that prioritise ease and comfort.

LIVING

Three of the bedrooms open directly onto the garden, while the fourth offers a charming bay window with views of the garden, all overlooking the peaceful landscape. Bedroom 1 has an en-suite, Bedrooms 2 to 4 share a big family bathroom. There is also a separate guest toilet near the living space.

The light-filled and spacious open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area features slide-away doors on both sides, seamlessly connecting the courtyard and terrace. The dining table comfortably seats 10, with an additional 10-seater table available on the terrace for outdoor meals.

The well-equipped kitchen includes a gas oven with a five-burner hob, two refrigerators, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and an abundance of cookware, dish ware, and utensils to cater to all your needs.

The 12-meter, unheated natural saltwater pool is ideal for swimming laps or simply relaxing. It features an underwater bench that runs the entire length of one side, offering a unique spot to unwind while enjoying the tranquil surroundings. A stream flows along the southern and eastern edges of the property, featuring a swimming pond carved from slate, a small waterfall, two picnic platforms, and a series of concrete benches placed every few hundred meters for relaxation.

In the mornings and late afternoons, the neighbours' cows cross the property, creating a charming daily routine. Just up the hill from the house, you'll find a large concrete yoga circle and a peaceful meditation garden. For outdoor recreation, there’s also a small basketball court with a hoop down by the stream.

The home is fully off-grid, powered by solar panels and batteries, ensuring ample energy as long as you use only what you need. Double-glazed windows help keep the house warm and cosy during winter, while in the summer, you can enjoy a cool breeze by either using the ceiling fans or simply sliding open the doors to let the fresh air flow through.

THE AREA

Set within 16 hectares of untouched countryside, The Villa offers breathtaking views of the Magaliesberg hills, creating a serene atmosphere for relaxation. Large windows bring the beauty of nature indoors, while open living spaces encourage a harmonious connection with the surrounding landscape. Guests can explore tranquil landscape, making The Villa the perfect sanctuary for those seeking a peaceful retreat in nature.

GOOD TO KNOW

Well behaved pets are welcome.

The villa is accessible via approximately 1km of dirt road once you turn off the main tar road. Accessible with a normal car.

Firewood is provided for the duration of your stay.

A small starter kit of kitchen basics are provided to settle you in, including olive oil, salt, pepper, tea, coffee, and sugar.

A once-off R500 fee covers set-up and final clean-up after the guest’s stay. For additional cleaning, guests are welcome to arrange with the caretakers on-site directly. 

CCTV cameras, beams and electric fences provide security and peace of mind.

If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the deposit.

If cancelling 21 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the deposit.
