Gwarrie Tree Lodge at Kleinrivier Mountain Escapes offers a secluded and immersive nature getaway within a vast 3,000-hectare wilderness area just 70 km from Port Elizabeth and north of Uitenhage. THE LODGE

The lodge can accommodate up to 4 guests and features 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Both bedrooms are furnished with queen-size beds and share a bathroom fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. For more adventurous guests, an outdoor shower is also available. Linen and towels are provided.

LIVING

The living area includes a modern kitchen equipped with a fridge-freezer, gas stove, microwave, cutlery, and crockery, as well as tea- and coffee-making facilities and a central 6-seater dining table. Adjacent to the kitchen, the lounge offers ample comfortable seating, with clear glass sliding doors opening to a 180-degree view of the Karoo landscape.

Surrounded by mountain views, indigenous vegetation, and abundant wildlife, Gwarrie Tree Lodge is the perfect retreat for relaxation and adventure. Guests can unwind on the covered patio with outdoor furniture and braai facilities, cool off in the splash pool, and enjoy secure parking while embracing the serenity of this unique wilderness setting.

THE AREA

Kleinrivier Mountain Escapes is a paradise for hikers, birders and those who simply want to break away for a while. While we do have game on the property we have not introduced any of the big five so it is safe to walk and explore our many trails on your own. The scenery in the Kleinrivier gorge is spectacularly beautiful and there are frequent pools to tempt you in on a hot summer day. Y

ou may even encounter klipspringer, kudu, impala and wildebeest to name a few. Explore the remote Winterhoek mountains while experiencing the Karoo fauna and flora by simply walking in the opposite direction. The mountains are clad in this unique flora comprising literally thousands of different fynbos species. Five species of antelope occur here naturally. Reptiles are king in this dry environment, most common are the 'Bloukop koggelmanders' which scuttle out of your way on the trails.

Kleinrivier Mountain Escapes is a non-smoking establishment.

Regrettably, pets cannot be accommodated.

The mountain pools are seasonal and is dependent on the rainfall in the area.

Please note, there is a gravel road leading to the accommodation. Guests are required to enquire about the road's condition before arrival, as it could be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.
