LIVING
The cottage can accommodate up to 2 guests and features an open-plan layout. The bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and includes a wood-burning fireplace, while the bathroom is fitted with a bath and shower. A private, enclosed outdoor bathroom with a bath and shower is also available for guests. All linen and towels are provided.
The living area includes a modern kitchen equipped with a fridge-freezer, 2-burner gas stove, microwave, cutlery and crockery, as well as tea- and coffee-making facilities. The adjacent lounge offers comfortable seating and a wall-mounted smart TV with streaming services. Wi-Fi access is provided.
Whether you’re exploring the Magaliesberg or simply unwinding in nature, KraalHaus offers a peaceful farm-style escape. The patio opens onto the natural surroundings and features two sun loungers, an outdoor dining table with chairs, and a wood-fired hot tub that doubles as a plunge pool on warmer days. With secure parking and a tranquil mountain setting, your stay promises relaxation and comfort.
THE AREA
Hekpoort is a scenic rural valley nestled in the foothills of the Magaliesberg Mountains. Historically significant and ecologically rich, it serves as a tranquil transition between the bustling cities of Gauteng and the wilder landscapes of the North West province.
The area is dominated by the Magaliesberg Range, one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world, featuring rugged cliffs, deep "kloofs" (gorges), and diverse flora and fauna.
Hekpoort falls within the Magaliesberg Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO-designated site focused on protecting unique biodiversity, including over 300 bird species and Cape Vultures.
Hekpoort is minutes away from the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site, where some of the world's oldest hominid fossils have been found.
