THE CABIN

Named after the flower that refuses to be ignored, Protea Cabin sits on a working farm deep in the Klein Swartberg Conservation Area, where the fynbos rolls out in every direction and the silence is the loudest thing around. Slide back the floor-to-ceiling glass doors and the mountains practically move in with you — light spilling across the deck from sunrise to last light. It's just over 90 minutes from Cape Town, but a world away from reality, running entirely on sunshine and slow mornings.

LIVING 

The open-plan living area features a kitchen equipped with a fridge, 4-plate SMEG gas stove, kettle & toaster. The cosy lounge offers a wood-burning fireplace and a comfortable seating area.

The cabin opens onto a beautiful wooden deck with a private wood-burning hot tub, sun loungers and a sunken dining area. Outside there is also a separate stone-built braai area with a fire pit. 

The bedroom is separate, all linen and towels are provided. The bathroom is en-suite with a shower and a toilet.

THE AREA

Protea Luxury Eco Cabin is situated between Caledon and Greyton on a farm in the Klein Swartberg conservation area, and just over 90min drive from Cape Town. At the cabin you are surrounded by fantastic bird life and rich fynbos as far as the eye can see.

GOOD TO KNOW

Reception is good on the farm but no wifi or TV in the cabin.

This is not a pet friendly cabin. 

Well maintained gravel road to access the cabin, you should have no trouble getting there in a normal car.

Braai equipment, wood, basic spices, local eggs and rusks are provided to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The cabin is a 25 minute drive to Greyton and and 22 minute drive to Caledon.
