The Black Barn is set back in the lush fynbos of the Romansbaai Beach Estate, an easy and scenic 2 hour drive from Cape Town. A mere 400m from the beach, its expansive outdoors entertainment area makes this an ideal getaway for friends and family.

THE HOUSE

The Barn was developed to offer a no frills relaxing experience in pristine nature. It is set in lush fynbos with distant sea views and sleeps 6 in three private en-suite bedrooms.

SLEEPING

Three bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms (showers only, no bath). All bedrooms have king size extra length beds. The rooms are private and relaxed. 

LIVING

A guest loo and open plan kitchen, dining and lounge set in the double volume ceilings ensures that you experience the luxury of space.

There is a north facing courtyard with built-in seating, adjacent to the pergola-covered outside dining area and an external braai/ fireplace.

The KolKol tub complete with a fire-heated stove is set in the fynbos above the courtyard, so while sipping something cool the others can attend to the braai.

THE AREA

Romansbaai Beach estate is any active traveller's dream. Walk, hike, run, ride or climb in this beautiful fynbos seaside sanctuary. There is so much to do and the community is warm and welcoming. 

Only 2 hours drive away from city bustle, the Overberg has grown into an economic hub and soulful region dominated by hills, valleys and ocean. It's main income derives from farming and eco tourism. Every year thousands of visitors come for various top class festivals and whale watching. The art and culture scene is abundant here, and restaurants compete globally. 

Romansbaai neighbours include Gansbaai, Kleinbaai and Danger Point in the Overberg, with the Danger Point Lighthouse on their doorstep.

Provided on arrival are a complimentary bottle of wine, firewood, coffee beans (starter, for the Saeco multifunction coffee machine) and filtered water.

Outdoors is a wood/ charcoal braai fireplace, a gas weber as well as a charcoal weber.

Indoors is a wood-fired combustion stove, a wine fridge and Bose sound system.

There is a “boules court” to try your skills at the French art of marbles.

BOOKING TERMS

Cancellation Policy
If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the deposit.
If cancelling 21 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the deposit.
If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 0% of the deposit.
 
Payment Terms
1. To secure a booking, a 50% deposit is required within 24 hours after receiving the quotation.
2. The balance of the booking must be paid 14 days before arrival.
3. Booking and 100% of the deposit will be lost if full payment hasn’t been cleared by the bank 10 days prior to arrival.

Arrival And Departure
1. Check-in time is any time after 14h00. It is a self-check-in procedure; a welcome letter with the check-in procedure is sent a day before the check-in date.
2. Check out time is strictly at 10h00. Guests that check out after 10h00 without prior arrangement will be liable for an extra night’s accommodation, as we will not be able to service the villa in time for new arrivals.
