THE CABIN

This remote farm location allows guests to experience the beauty and stillness of their environment while enjoying modern amenities in a stylish and inviting space.  Wake up to a kudu ambling past, black eagles soaring overhead or klipspringer and mountain reedbuck grazing on nearby shrubs.

LIVING

Designed to accommodate 2 adults, the cabin features a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a large shower with views of the veld. The interior has been thoughtfully furnished to create a cosy and relaxing atmosphere, complete with a lounge area, fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, ceiling fan and Wi-Fi. Additional comforts include bathrobes, slippers, bathroom amenities, a hairdryer and fresh towels, ensuring a memorable stay throughout the year.

The outdoor spaces at Kloof's End Cabin are designed to fully embrace the surrounding natural beauty. Guests can enjoy using the barbecue, hot tub, outdoor furniture and a spacious terrace, all set against sweeping views of the landscape. The cabin is positioned to take advantage of uninterrupted mountain and river views, offering a truly scenic and peaceful setting. Guests will discover the magic of this location when enjoying a sundowner drink during the "golden hour" when the setting sun soaks the surrounding cliffs and provides a magnificent light.

THE AREA

Located in the heart of the Karoo, Nieu-Bethesda is a quiet, historic village known for its artistic charm and peaceful atmosphere. The village is surrounded by wide open plains, rugged mountains and striking semi-desert landscapes, ideal for relaxation and nature lovers.

A highlight of the area is the Owl House, a unique and iconic sculpture garden created by Helen Martins. Visitors can explore local galleries, craft shops and small museums showcasing the village's creative community. The area offers excellent stargazing opportunities, with minimal light pollution and clear Karoo skies.

Outdoor activities include hiking, cycling and scenic drives through the surrounding mountains and valleys. Fossil tours and historical walks provide insight into the region's rich geological and cultural heritage. Local restaurants and cafés offer hearty Karoo cuisine and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

Nieu-Bethesda is approximately 50 km from Graaff-Reinet, one of South Africa's oldest towns, known for its Cape Dutch architecture and the nearby Camdeboo National Park. This tranquil destination is perfect for guests seeking a peaceful retreat, artistic inspiration and an authentic Karoo experience.

GOOD TO KNOW

The property is accessed by a farm mountain road, which can only be driven on by a high clearance vehicle (SUV or bakkie)

Owing to the layout and setting of the cabin, children under 10 years are not permitted.

Guests travelling with 1 or 2 children between the ages of 10 and 17 years are requested to contact us directly to arrange the sleeper couch bed in the cabin
