The Western Cape’s Hemel-en-Aarde Valley is an area renowned for its exquisite beauty. Here we welcome you to Glen Oakes Farm. A 300 hectare working family farm, where relaxed, rustic and cosy self-catering accommodation offers the best of the Overberg hospitality – birdsong, breath-taking views, crackling fires, squishy sofas, trickling streams and starry nights.

THE CABIN

The Wood Cabin is situated amongst a grove of Oak and Poplar trees, the Cabin offers the utmost privacy, perfect for a romantic getaway, to experience rural tranquillity, let kids be kids and to create treasured memories.

LIVING 

The living room has a fireplace and large windows that open completely into the trees.

A small stone pool has been built catching the mountain stream that gently flows past the cabin. There is a wooden deck and lounges for complete relaxation and braai facilities too.

The bird life around the cabin is wonderful and if you are awake early enough, enjoy a hot cup of coffee and watch a pair of resident Duiker from either a large sofa or your bed.

The cabin has no electricity, gas operates the oven and fridge and geyser. There is an outdoor shower in an old water tank however, if a little chilly, enjoy a long hot bath inside. Candles and lanterns are provided as well as solar lights.

We invite you to experience rustic comfort in the charming Wood Cabin. Up against the beautiful Klein River mountains, fynbos and pasture lands, Glen Oakes offers the perfect destination for a romantic getaway or fun stays with family & friends. Privacy is assured.

GOOD TO KNOW

The access code for the farm will be emailed to you prior to your arrival.

No pets allowed.

There is no electricity, we operate on gas and solar only.

The use of appliances such as hairdryers, coffee machines etc is not possible.

Charging point is available for devices.

Firewood at R40/bag (stocked at the cottage, no need to pre-order).

Ice is available at R20/bag. Please preorder.

The hot tub will be lit prior to arrival.

Bath towels are provided, please bring your own swimming towels.

100% cotton linen and towels are provided.

Children aged between 0 and 2 stay free.

Children aged between 3 and 18 pay 100% of the sharing rate.

If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total.

If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the deposit.

If cancelling 21 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the deposit.

If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the deposit.
